The socks are coming along. I’m on the homestretch now and have one repeat to left to do before a few rounds of stockinette and then the toe decrease. I DO love this yarn and I do love the pattern so much, it’s just been very challenging to work on.
Also, a Sock Yarn Blanket update. 🙂 It’s starting to take shape but obviously has a way to go. I’m definitely not wide enough yet, though I’m undecided how much wider I want to go. Definitely about half again as wide, so I can curl up with it on the couch.
And you know, for someone that doesn’t generally like pink, I have a lot of it. LOL
I ALWAYS have a pair of socks on the needles. Right now, it’s these and I’m very anxious for them to be done. For one, there’s always the wonderful feeling of a new pair of socks. But also, the yarn is a very dark cinnamon color and I just have horrible eyesight, so it’s been a challenge knitting with a darker yarn.
The yarn is Knit Picks Stroll Merlot Heather and has been just wonderful to work with. The pattern is Robin Lynn’s My Cup of Tea. The pattern is great and does go by quickly and they fit so well! 🙂
Not sure what the next sock will be, something springy, of course! 🙂
There’s not a lot of knitting going to be done to these this weekend, unfortunately, but there is progress! I’m really considering doing the heel and toe of these in a nice soft, heathered gray. (I wish the color showed up more accurately, but it’s gloomy out, so the lighting is rather sucky. LOL It’s really pretty pinks/roses) Hmm..
Yes? No? 🙂
Even though I didn’t get a chance to post until today, these socks were actually finished late last night and another pair cast on (of course!).
I’ve also taken a shot of my sock & scarf drawer. Eventually, I want a pair of socks for every day of the month, plus leftovers. 🙂
Speaking of socks, the lesson yesterday went well and she did great! We need to meet again to finish the toe.
I’m trying very hard to get these finished. I have one done and have moved on to the foot of the second sock. I have SO many projects I want to do, but these need to be finished, then a pair of hats for a couple of friends (this weekend? Maybe?). And then, and then…
Am I the only one with an enormous Knitting Wishlist? Or that has a Dream Project? If you do, what’s yours? 🙂
Anyway, striped socken…
And I’m not even going to THINK about how I apparently ate something today that’s made me itchy (well, I know I have, I had a couple of Timmy Ho’s muffins, but knew this would happen. *sigh*)
Getting projects finished and given to their recipient is always a great feeling. The last couple of weekends, I’ve made quite a bit of progress.
First, I gave my step dad his previously mentioned Irish Wellington Socks yesterday. I’d found a nice label on Pinterest to print out and folded them nicely. He loved them and put them on immediately, then left them on all day.
On the 17th, I posted about my Ever Growing Stash and the yarn I was getting custom dyed by LittleAliceYarnStash. It arrived yesterday! As the yarn Swift is at my sister’s an hour away, I balled it by hand and cast on for my niece’s sock. I have to say I am VERY pleased with the colors and the way they are striping up. I’m also thrilled with her shop in general because she was quick to reply to my question about a custom order, quick to get something together to show me and shipped it right out. I will definitely be buying from her again, for sure!
And the socks, you ask? I’m just doing a basic cuff down, tube leg for my niece. I want the colors to do the talking, not lace or cables. TA DAH!!
