Mark one off the list…

I haven’t been around because I’ve been frantically knitting holiday mini projects. I just finished this hat and mittens for a friend’s daughter and will give that to them tomorrow. The yarn was a freebie on Rav and the yarn is Rowan’s Pure Wool Worsted, my go to, it seems like. 🙂

I also have to redo a dog sweater because WOW were we off with the size, plus baby shower stuff. And I did finished a little pull over top, but as it’s cotton and short sleeves and it SNOWED in Maine today, I haven’t got a photo of it yet. 🙂

First FO of 2015

Made for my friend Jen because she asked me ever so nicely and I have so many lovely things from her. Quick n’ easy cable hat made with Rowan’s Pure Wool Worsted in Granite. LOVE! On to make one for me.

Something about getting up with the air temp at -6 makes you want warm things! 😛

A Knitter’s Bandit

FINALLY I have some decent light for a post holiday photo. 🙂 I made out like a bandit at Christmas. My family knows me so well.

From my hubby, I got the Knitter’s Pride Karbonz interchangeable set, which I just LOVE. From a dear friend, I got the Knitter’s Pride Karbonz DPN set. My sister got me Blue Sky Alpaca Melange, which I am just chomping at the bit to find the perfect pattern for. 🙂 And my mum got me this spectacular project bag. I’m in love with it all! 🙂

Then I had this last minute gift to whip up for a friend’s daughter in Rowan Pure Wool. 🙂

As soon as I get a chance, I’ll do my year end knitting wrap up post. 🙂

Nearly there…

My Lehigh Jumper in Rowan’s Pure Wool Worsted is nearly done. I cast on the second sleeve last night, blocked the front and back pieces yesterday and hope to be able to block the first sleeve tonight after the trick or treating is done. With any luck, I can put it together Sunday when I’m off work. I hope.

This is the first time I’ve done a sweater that will be seamed, so I am a bit nervous there. I want it to look nice and can see myself being a perfectionist over it. (Usually I do top down sweaters)

I do love this project – the pattern is written extremely well and the yarn! Oh! I do so love it. I can’t wait to cuddle up in it when it’s finished. It’s been fantastic to work with.

Here is my pile of finished bits:

New WIP?

I’m working by myself at the yarn store this week and next so I found a new sweater to cast on.  It’s called Lehigh and made with Rowan’s awesome new Pure Wool Worsted in Rust. I love that it looks so comfy and warm and is working up so quickly (I usually do sweaters in fingering weight yarn). I can’t wait for it to be done!

Sunday Projects Everywhere!

  1. I’d like to say Happy Easter to those as celebrate it. I’m Pagan, my husband is Atheist and his family observes it more as a family gathering day than a religious day, so we’ll be ending up at the in-law’s for a late brunch in a while.
  2. Is anyone else doing the Rowan Afghan Mystery KAL using their new Pure Wool? I began the first square the other night and am nearly half way done. I’m doing the body in a gorgeous Forest Green and the border in Umber brown. I love the yarn. It’s fantastic to work with and can’t wait to see how it turns out!

  4. I also have one lonely sock right now out of my mystery red/gray/white yarn. It’s incredibly comfortable, just a bit lonely as a single sock (I don’t do two-at-a-time). I’m not feeling the on-set of Second Sock Syndrome and the second has been cast on.
  5. Once the socks are taken care of, I have a Marion Foale sweater I want to cast on. It’s rather classy and elegant and will be perfect for me to wear to work once I’ve finished it. I need to have my friend at my LYS help me with some measurements because the model she had didn’t quite fit the way I’d like. I want it a bit longer in body and a bit shorter in sleeve. 😛 I have ridiculous love for the yarn and can’t wait to cast it on!
  6. In case anyone hasn’t noticed, I have a huge fondness for bullets. You have been warned. 😛
