I’ve just finished Blue Sky Alpaca’s Two Harbors Poncho and I adore it! It’s very boxy, but it’s also very warm and snuggly – perfect for those cold New England days to curl up with a book and a cup of tea. 🙂
I’ve also begun a Lacy Baktus, made with Marion Foale in grape and love that as well. It’s very easy to work on while watching tv or sitting with the family. 🙂
Tonight I finished this baby bonnet for a former co-worker. 🙂 It’s sort of from all over the place – the crown is from one pattern, the leaves from another and the flower from yet another. 🙂 I think it works though. The yarn is Marion Foale, which was perfect for this!
She’ll be picking it up in the morning. I hope she likes it!
In between watching the Daytona 500 and rendering lard for soap and cooking, I’m also crocheting this wee baby hat that a former co-worker has asked me to make for her. the yarn is Marion Foale in Grape and the pattern is Crochet Baby Hat with Butterfly.
I was also given unrendered lard by a co-worker for soap making or, since some is also leaf lard, baking/cooking. I am currently rendering it now. We’ll see how it goes. 🙂 So far, it looks pretty good.
Obviously, these have been in the works for quite a while, but I am finally DONE with them and just in time for today’s lovely weather! Now my fingers shall be nice and toasty. I learned quite a bit making these and loved every minute of working on them!
Most importantly – If you should celebrate Christmas, I hope yours was very merry and you spent it surrounded by loved ones.
If you don’t, if your path takes you elsewhere this time of year, I hope whatever you celebrate, whenever, yours was also marvelous!
I have sort of been under a rock these last few months (OMG when did they change the update page AGAIN?) madly knitting for a baby shower (No pic, oops!), several sets of minion hats and mittens, and a hooded animal cowl. I’m done now and am determined to finish a project or three for myself!
First off, my Sanquhar Gloves. So very close! 🙂
I dug out my Sanquhar gloves again yesterday and made some progress on those. One complete and now this.
I’m all set to be snowed in tomorrow, which is good since they’re once again calling for blizzard like conditions. Yowza.
I’m about to bind off one project and have the next set to cast on – Ali’s Cap by Marion Foale in this lovely eggplant color, also known as Aubergine. I’ve had my eye on it for a while and can’t wait to cast on! 🙂
In the meantime, I’m snuggled in – watching Avengers, wearing my Captain America jammies and sipping cold medicine.
I stayed up way, way too late last night to do this (I had the thumb and half a pinkie left), but it was worth it! I have some ends to work in inside, but I am so incredibly tickled with this. First time ever doing color work (no *major* mistakes) and first time doing gloves. I could see myself addicted to these. 😛 I hope to cast on its mate at the LYS today.
1. Christmas shopping is, for the most part, finished. Just a few trinkets left and it will be complete. I’ve ordered us a family gift of Google Chromecast that will be here Tuesday. I’ll have a co-worker fill out the tag from Santa for me. 🙂 My Father in law ordered my mother in law a Galaxy Tab 4 7″ tablet with my help, THAT will be here Tuesday as well. We got my son some things for his guitar and … 15 year old boys are impossible to shop for! LOL
2. I just got back from the LYS I work at. Came home with a Marion Foale cap pattern to make up just after Christmas with this really pretty eggplant color I have in my stash. Maybe a Christmas Eve/Day project?
3. And I bought myself a Christmas present while I was there, too. 🙂 I got a set of Knitter’s Pride Karbonz Double Point needles that are just gorgeous. I can’t wait to get those going! Next up is the interchangeable set. *grin*
I haven’t worked on these in what seems like forever and I’d really like to have this one done very soon. I just feeling like I have been in such knitting limbo recently and maybe finishing this will help me get past this.
