Today on my needles . . .

One of my current projects is Cadillac Mountain, a lovely vest by Kate Gagnon Osborn. We’re shaking it up a bit and I’m using Anny Blatt Calyce for it – which is so lush!  The pattern is great,  very easy to follow with clear,  concise directions. The back is finished,  as is about half of the first front piece.

FO Fest!

*waves* Anyone still out there? It’s been a busy, hot summer. We’ve had vacation, we’ve been on day trips and I have had finished projects languishing with no pictures. *gasp* Today, I finally have pictures. Yay!

The socks are fraternal twin socks made with Spud n’ Chloe. The cream sweater is the Lily Cardigan by Marie Grace Smith and was made with Blue Sky Fibers’ Alpaca in sport weight. The green sweater is Allegro by Marjorie Dussaud and published on Knit Picks’ website. It was knit with Rowan Pure Wool Worsted in Grasshopper. And the crochet chevron is for my niece to beat on at college, so it was crocheted with Red Heart so we wouldn’t have to worry about it. πŸ™‚

Now I’m working on Cadillac Mountain in Calyce by Anny Blatt and am just adoring it! πŸ™‚

I’ve just finished Blue Sky Alpaca’s Two Harbors Poncho and I adore it! It’s very boxy, but it’s also very warm and snuggly – perfect for those cold New England days to curl up with a book and a cup of tea. πŸ™‚

I’ve also begun a Lacy Baktus, made with Marion Foale in grape and love that as well. It’s very easy to work on while watching tv or sitting with the family. πŸ™‚

FO … Sunday?

Before the holidays, I’d sent a friend a Yule gift… Only to have it disappear somewhere along the way. Boo hiss.

I have just finished her replacement and will send it out tomorrow. Hopefuly this time it makes it to her. I’ve made her a pair of seed stitch washcloths and am including homemade (by me) Calendula soap and Coffee Soap. Think she will like it?

Oh the weather outside is frightful…

My drive home from work (2+ hours early) was uneventful, which I am so so thankful for. We’ve already had about 8 inches of snow and it’s still heavily coming down. The roads are dreadful and visibility is even worse.

I have a new office at work. Where I was sitting previously was a shared office and had a lot of traffic going through. It was nightmarishly distracting and noisy and I had NO space. Plus, I’m closer to the door when families come in, deliveries, etc. I got settled in today, mostly, and I’m starting to love it.

And finally, I’m also working on a delightful poncho from Blue Sky Alpaca using Blue Sky Alpaca Extra in red. I’m just loving it. I’ve never done a three needle bind off before, so I’m looking forward to something new. Β And the yarn! So lush! I just love it.

Tonight on my needles

I truly wish they would stop changing the update page and just leave things alone. ARGH

Anywho. I’m currently working on yet another pair of socks. I’m pretty sure the yarn is Lana Grossa, the pattern is Abbey Morris’s Dancetty. I thought it would work nicely with the different colors in the yarn. I really like how it’s striping up! πŸ™‚ 2016-02-04 19.49.51

Mark one off the list…

I haven’t been around because I’ve been frantically knitting holiday mini projects. I just finished this hat and mittens for a friend’s daughter and will give that to them tomorrow. The yarn was a freebie on Rav and the yarn is Rowan’s Pure Wool Worsted, my go to, it seems like. πŸ™‚

I also have to redo a dog sweater because WOW were we off with the size, plus baby shower stuff. And I did finished a little pull over top, but as it’s cotton and short sleeves and it SNOWED in Maine today, I haven’t got a photo of it yet. πŸ™‚

Done!

And the sweater is finished. I absolutely, positively adore it. I wore it to work today, but as is typical for late summer/ early fall in Maine, I had taken it off just after lunch time. Layer up in the morning, strip ’em off in the afternoon. πŸ™‚

In other news, my Poorly Puppy is feeling much better. She still is not completely herself, but she is feeling much, much better than she was the other day. I’ll take it!

WIP…. Tuesday?

This is the sweater I am currently seaming. I fixed a shoulder this morning (very displeased with how it turned out the first time). I finished the neutral on one side this morning, need to seam up the darks, then do the other side as well. I am hoping that I manage to do that tonight.

I hope.

The question now… The pattern calls for faux pockets and I just can’t decide if I want to fuss with them or not. Sigh.2015-09-15 07.12.25
